Scout of the Month!

Andrew shared his sales with two other scouts and was still able to get to the scholarship amount. Twice he invited Scouts from his Den who were leary of selling on their own. One time sharing sales with two other scouts for the same show and sale. He showed the Scout traits of Kind, Thrifty, Cheerful and Loyal. In doing so those two other Scouts will now not have to worry about paying dues this year!

Cub Scouting with Pack 28

Our Pack consists of boys and their families from northern Cecil County and southern Chester County, Pennsylvania. We are a chartered organization of the American Legion Post 194 of Rising Sun, Maryland.

Our pack is part of the Octoraro District of the Chester County Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

Cub Scouting is a year-round program designed for boys entering Kindergarten through 5th grade. We hold weekly den meetings, except for Lion's they meet twice a month, from September through June and monthly trips and activities through the summer months.

The program offers fun and challenging activities that promote character development, citizenship training and physical fitness.

Boys begin as Lion Cub in the first grade, then Tiger Cubs in the first grade, then move into the Wolf and Bear Cub Scout programs during the second and third grades and Webelo Scouts while in fourth and fifth grade.

Scouts are grouped into dens by grade and meet once per week for the first three weeks of the month. The last week of the month all the dens come together at the monthly pack meeting to be presented with their awards.

At pack and den meetings, boys participate in games, educational activities and group recognition. The Pack participates in frequent field trips to various places of interest, in addition to camps and other scout gatherings.
