The Arrow of Light (AOL) is the highest rank in Cub Scouts and the final step before moving on to Scouts BSA. AOL Scouts are 5th graders who are preparing for new adventures in the next level of Scouting.
What AOL Scouts Do:
Build Outdoor Skills – camping, hiking, knot tying, and fire safety.
Practice Leadership – helping lead activities and mentoring younger Scouts.
Serve the Community – through projects that support their pack, school, and neighborhood.
Learn Scouting Knowledge – understanding the Scout Oath, Law, and how Scouts BSA troops work.
Prepare for the Future – developing confidence, teamwork, and independence.
The Arrow of Light is the only Cub Scout rank badge that Scouts can wear on their Scouts BSA uniform, making it a proud milestone on their Scouting journey.
