Monthly Wolf Den Update:

  • The Wolf Den was excited this month to share what it means to be a "numismatist." A numismatist is a person who studies coins and money. The Wolf Den learned where coins are made and the meaning of their pictures and words. They learned about symbols, trading, and minting of coins. They learned about the bust, legend, field, inscription, mint mark, relief, and rim. It was exciting to touch and make rubbings of various coins from Indian Head pennies to Lady Liberty dollars. The boys have started a quarter collection for each of the 50 states. Isn't it amazing how much you can learn from looking closely at a single coin?
